French toast with Hartlief Black Forest Ham drizzled with warm honey
There can be nothing more satisfying than the taste combination of perfectly crispy French toast layered with salty, crunchy Black Forest Ham and drizzled with warm, sweet honey. The nutty flavour of the butter decadently rounds out this perfect breakfast meal. Serve with bananas and raspberries or other fresh fruits.
- 8 slices Hartlief Black Forest Ham
- 4 Free-range eggs
- 100ml Cream
- Pinch of salt
- 4 Slices of thick, soft white bread
- Generous pat of butter for frying
- 100ml Honey
- 2 Bananas
- Hand full of berries of your choice
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Place the Black Forest Ham on a wire rack on a roasting pan in the oven for 10 minutes or until the ham is golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, it can be pan fried for a minute on each side in a drop of olive oil.
Whisk the eggs and cream together in a bowl and season with salt.
Soak the bread in the egg mixture on both sides and fry in a buttered pan until golden brown.
Pour honey into a small container and heat in the microwave for 10 seconds on high or until it is a pouring consistency.
Layer the French toast and Black Forest Ham on a plate and drizzle with the warm honey.
Slice the banana and add to the French toast.
Serve with the berries
